Lavender Bluff Farm will be hosting sisters Lara Anderson Skaar Tornes (Pepin) and Holly Anderson Jorde (Duluth).
Originally from Lake City, this is the first time they will be displaying their work together.
Inspired by her Scandinavian roots, Lara is our local modern rosemaler and has been painting Scandie murals and canvasses across the midwest for 30 years. She holds a degree in textile design and art from Concordia College Moorhead and studied rosemaling at the Vesterheim in Decorah, Iowa.
Inspired by mid century modern art and design, nature (macro and micro) and scandinavian folk art/craft traditions, Holly utilizes the potters wheel and various hand building techniques to create abstract, table-top installations and functional forms.
Holly Jorde is an artist and college art instructor/ educator based in Duluth MN. She holds an MA and MFA in ceramic sculpture and drawing from Stephen F Austin State University in TX and a BA in studio art and theater design and communications from Concordia College in Moorhead MN. Her work has been shown in various solo and group exhibitions around the nation the and is in a variety of public and private collections. She is married with two children and a dog.
